Description:
Specialist Criminal Law practitioner, and Head of the Criminal Team at Temple Chambers.
Roger Griffiths specialises in the prosecution of complex drug conspiracies, and has extensive experience of all types of Criminal Law proceedings and offences, including murder and sexual offences.
He also deals with covert surveillance cases involving the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000. He is often instructed in cases involving the Serious Organised Crime Agency, and regularly appears before the Court of Appeal, in particular in relation to matters concerning the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
Roger Griffiths also acts as a legal adviser to police disciplinary panels.

R v Richards [2008] EWCA Crim 1841: confiscation order made against an offender's associate was quashed. Orders had been made against both offender and associate in respect of the same property, but the associate had not received the beneficial interest in the property, despite the offender having transferred the legal title to him.
Operation Compass (2008): prosecution of a Vietnamese drugs gang for killing a worker who had lost a cannabis crop
Operation Reptile (2006): prosecution of 30 defendants for conspiracy to supply drugs involving Essex, the Midlands and Reading
Operation Ghana (2005): prosecution as leading junior of 20 defendants engaged in large scale heroin dealing on a housing estate
Operation Capsule (2003): prosecution of 23 defendants in a South Wales wide drugs conspiracy
