Family Law and Civil Law practitioner.
Undertook pupillage with David Aubrey.
Initially having a mixed practice of Family and common law Civil, Jane's practice has an increased emphasis on Civil Law, having regard to her academic qualification, her interest in intellectual property law and her considerable amount of personal injury work. Her work in this area is expanding with a view to specialisation.
Jane is also involved with IP Wales, based at the University of Wales, Swansea, and undertakes academic research for this organisation.
Jane is starting a part time PhD at Swansea University in July 2010. This research will analyse data from major software companies as well as Welsh SME businesses in order to ascertain the level and nature of IP infringement to include E crime. The study will examine the present IP law and criminal law with a view to identifying it's effectiveness. Recommendations and role models for reform will made and identified, with emphasis on E crime legislation.
